
Marissa Mathia is a Piano Performance major at the University of Nebraska at Omaha School of Music. An active musician, she loves sharing her passion of music, artistry and emotional connection. A proud lifelong resident of Omaha, she has benefited from the impact of the Omaha musical community. Marissa aims to inspire the inner artist of the young musicians she teaches. She is committed to teaching students of all ages and hopes to inspire a lifetime of music appreciation. Marissa has many years of experience working with children through leading the church worship ministry for the youth and childcare.
At UNO Marissa is an active performer and collaborator. In October of 2018, she traveled to Guangzhou, China to make her debut international performance as a soloist. As a collaborator, she has performed with her piano duet partner Yimeng Xu at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University. She also has performed with UNO’s University choir and loves working with vocalists. Marissa studies with Dr. Washington Garcia and Professor Stacie Haneline.
